Only treatment directly affecting your pet’s rehabilitation needs will be performed through Rehab at the Ridge. Rehab at The Ridge refers all medical questions to your pet’s primary care veterinarian. If you are concerned about your pet’s overall health, please schedule an appointment with your pet’s primary care veterinarian. You will not be able to transfer your pet’s medical care to The Ridge Vet at any time. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation with the following guidelines. This allows us to be fair to all rehabilitation patients and their owners and to provide your pet with the best in rehabilitation care.
Duration and long-term results of rehabilitation therapy are dependent on the severity of your pet’s disease, multimodal treatment for their disease, frequency of in-clinic therapy, and your ability to augment in-clinic therapy with at-home exercise and weight management.(Required)
You will be directly involved in the rehabilitation treatments of your pet. If you are unable to be present during the entire examination or treatment, please schedule a drop-off appointment. Scheduling drop-off appointments may affect the availability of treatment times for your pet due to additional staff needing to assist treatment or availability of kennels during the day. All pets staying in our kennels are required to use monthly flea and tick preventative. All pets staying in our kennels are required to have current Rabies and Bordetella vaccines.(Required)
Prior to all treatment appointments, it is imperative that you inform Dr. Whitley or another staff member of any changes to your pet’s health or concerns you have regarding your pet’s comfort or mobility. If someone else brings your pet in for therapy, they will need to be able to provide us with this information.(Required)
It is imperative that you and your pet arrive on time to examination and treatment sessions. If you will be unavoidably late for your appointment, please call to let us know. We schedule treatment sessions for a specific amount of time. If you are late and the session does not start on time, it will still need to end at its scheduled time. We may need to reschedule your appointment if you arrive late.(Required)
During your pet's appointment: No children under the age of 16 are allowed in the rehabilitation exam room or treatment area for liability reasons. This also ensures that you and your pet will not be distracted and will benefit from the entire treatment time. Cell phones must be turned off during rehabilitation examinations and treatments. No phone calls or texts should be answered during your treatment time. If you are expecting an emergency phone call, please discuss with Dr. Michelle, Dr. Whitley, or another staff member before starting treatment or examination.(Required)
Due to concern for your pet’s health and the health of our other patients, some therapies may not be able to be performed until concurrent medical conditions are resolved including: If your pet has a skin infection, acupuncture, underwater treadmill, and whirlpool cannot be performed until the infection has resolved; if your pet has a urinary tract infection, underwater treadmill and whirlpool cannot be performed until the infection is resolved; if your pet has diarrhea or fecal incontinence, underwater treadmill and whirlpool cannot be performed until fecal control resumes; or if your pet is dirty, they may need to be bathed prior to underwater treadmill or whirlpool sessions at an additional cost to prevent contamination of the water.(Required)
We offer discounts on some services when multiple sessions are purchased as a “package”. Payment for medications and services is expected when provided.(Required)
The deposit paid for the rehabilitation examination is non-refundable. With notice of 24 hours or more, the deposit can be applied to a rescheduled exam.(Required)
