Pets: Cats: Katza & Sincere | Dog: Poppy
Julie grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and has always had a deep love for animals, which ultimately led her to a career in veterinary medicine. After transitioning from the education field, she worked as a Client Service Representative at a busy veterinary practice in Chicago, where she discovered a passion for helping pets and their families. Julie believes that pets are just as precious as human children and deserve compassionate, high-quality care.
Her dedication to animal welfare extends beyond the clinic. Julie was an active volunteer with One Tail at a Time, a Chicago-based rescue organization, where she assisted with adoption events, community outreach, and animal advocacy efforts. She also spent time walking dogs at Chicago Animal Care & Control. Since moving to Omaha, she has continued her commitment to rescue work by volunteering with Felius, where she enjoys helping connect rescue cats and kittens with loving homes.
At home, Julie shares her life with three beloved pets: Poppy, a 14-year-old mixed-breed senior dog; Katza, a 6-year-old tuxedo cat; and Sincere, a dilute tortie feral porch cat.
When she's not at work or volunteering, Julie enjoys gardening, reading and listening to audiobooks, exploring new crafts, spending quality time with her husband, attending live music events, participating in aqua fitness classes, and sharpening her mahjong skills after learning the game last year.
